Maryland-based rockers Lionize are heading back to the UK this summer, and kickstart the live dates with a return to The Craufurd Arms in Wolverton.
The date for your diary is Friday, July 28.
We were last wowed by the band - Chris Brooks (keys), Henry Upton (bass), Chase Lapp (drums), and Nate Bergman (guitar) - when they supported Clutch in Birmingham to an ecstatic response, and the intimate confines of our Milton Ketynes venue will give another chance to appreciate their playability.
The quartet have recently been hard at work putting the finishing touches on their new studio album, set for release this summer via new label The End Records.
“Coming back to the UK after our December 2016 tour with Clutch is such an exciting feeling!" said Nate.
"On that run, we tried out some new songs we'd been working on and the response and energy was something like we’ve never felt live.
"To be able to come back again is really a privilege! All of our favourite bands through rock and roll's history were either from the UK or got a following there before the USA caught on.
"To top it all off, we're playing Bloodstock and Ramblin' Man Fair! How many bands can say they did both of those?! Can’t wait to show you what we have this summer.”
The forthcoming Lionize LP follows the band's widely praised 2014 album 'Jetpack Soundtrack' and continues their ever-maturing sound.
It's emotionally-driven and steeped in introspection, with subjects ranging from the end of times to heart break within the industry.
Recorded locally in Maryland, USA, production has been handled by Clutch's Jean Paul Gaster with J. Robbins and Lionize.
Tickets for the headline shows go on sale at 10am tomorrow (May 5).
