Three of our favourite things combine this weekend - the chance to enjoy sublime sounds, in a truly beautiful setting while enjoying a fresh-made, cream tea.
And, if it happens while the sun is shining, so much the better!
It's week two of Wavendon's Music in the Garden season, the event founded by the much-missed Sir John Dankworth, and housed in the garden he once shared with his wife, Dame Cleo Laine.
It is celebrating its 15th season in 2015.
"Fifteen years ago John and I founded our charitable trust, The Wavendon Foundation, as a means of lending help and support to the furtherance of all good music," Cleo explained.
"Wavendon's Music in the Garden festival, John's brainchild, was established with the aim of raising funds to provide grant aid to deserving causes.
"And another aim, perhaps equally important, was to provide some great musical entertainment," she added.
And this week, that great entertainment comes from Elaine Delmar, and Kieran Goss.
Jazz vocalist Elaine Delmar (above) pulls from The great American Songbook, as do many others.
The difference? Significantly fewer have a grasp of the genre that she boasts, and even less are capable of expressing it with such dynamic simplicity.
'When she sings a song as plainly as she can it still emerges gently swinging, imbued with the spirit of jazz,' commented the Sunday Observer in review, 'She builds each performance with sure-footed musicianship.'
Join Elaine and her quartet of players on Saturday morning (June 20), from 11.30am.
Tickets are on sale at £12.
> On Sunday (June 21), Kieran (top) - one of Ireland's leading songwriters and performers - takes over.
Kieran is a Stables familiar that we have written about many times before.
He began his Wavendon journey on stage supporting Fairport Convention, but in recent years has been a headliner selling-out the venue in his own right.
A witty and charming performer, the garden will be a bustle with fans.
Tickets are on sale at £15, and Kieran will stage-step at 2.30pm.
