Dynamic Americana/folk/roots duo My Girl the River play The Stables this Thursday (April 27).
Their debut album has been described as ‘a passionate love letter to the American Deep South’ and Kris’ vocals as ‘sugared espresso’.
They've been favourably compared to the stylings of kd lang, Lucinda Williams and Joan Baez for their songwriting, production, and performance
After successful support slots with Laura Cantrell, Cale Tyson and Suzanne Vega they have also been invited to return to the Isle of Wight Festival by director John Giddings.
My Girl The River - aka Kris Wilkinson and Joe Hughes - is looking forward to taking their music out to small intimate venues. "The response during the Suzanne Vega tour was overwhelming," said Kris.
"Many people said we were one of the best support acts they had seen. It will be great to perform a full show and really interact with the audience.’
