Anna Hester launches her new E.P. this Saturday (November 10) at MK Gallery Project Space.
Anna grew up in Milton Keynes and was featured talking about her music in the recent Living Archive project ‘The People’s Stories’. She was also a songwriter for the project Great War Remembered MK.
She launched her first EP at Milton Keynes Arts Centre back in 2014, and after a few years in Cambridge, performing widely and recording with producer Dan Wilde, she is back on home turf to MK to launch the follow-up four-track EP, ‘Towards Today’.
The songs will be released on CD and on all major digital platforms, and audience members will be able to purchase a copy at the show.
Anna has played on the Acoustic Stage at Milton Keynes International Festival and as a Stage 2 support act at The Stables.
She has performed widely across the south of England in intimate settings such as canal boats and larger venues including The Good Ship in London.
‘Towards Today’ is the culmination of two years of musical development. While the EP features talented instrumentalists (including Milton Keynes’ Maddy Hamilton on cello), this intimate launch will be a chance to hear Anna’s songs in stripped-back, acoustic form.
There will also be music from support acts Chris Fox and Dawn Iverson.
Tickets are £7 on the door, £5 in advance here
