See the 'brilliantly unusual' Rachael Dadd at MK Gallery Live

Rachael Dadd will be live at Milton Keynes Gallery this Saturday (September 10) performing a solo set of tracks from her albums We Resonate and Bite the Mountain.

'Brilliantly unusual, unexpected tracks, you never know what she's going to do next,' says DJ Lauren Laverne.

We Resonate was born from  the richness that comes from a semi-nomadic lifestyle, and was partly recorded in a studio followed by playful overdubbing in her front room.

Genre-wise, she's about folk, pop and experimental.

It 'pulses with poly-rhythms on prepared piano, homemade xylophone, voice, clarinets, typewriter, box of matches, steel drum, tap-dancing, clapping, and even the heartbeat of her baby in the womb.'

You want creativity, and you've just found it!

She's an artist in the traditional sense too, and left art school with first class honours.

'Bold art folk,' said Uncut when describing her.

This has all the hallmarks of a 'wish you were there' live date.  And if you are there, you'll also see Toucans, and Secret Flight.

The former is really Adam John Humphrey, a hermit who spends most of his days in his bedroom, recording songs with the resident ghost, so we guess his material will be decidedly haunting....

The latter is a melody-driven electronic music project taking influence from Soviet film soundtracks and 80s British indie-pop.
