Slambovians bring the "Cool End of Americana" to Milton Keynes

The Slambovian Circus of Dreams will be making a welcome return to the UK inviting audiences old and new to explore the depths of Americana, 'one trippy tune at a time.'

The band arrive at Milton Keynes iconic venue the Stables on Thursday, June 20 as part of their nine date tour.

Since their first UK visit in 2008 The Slambovians have regularly returned to the UK bringing their energetic performances of Woodstock-tinged psychedelia laced with southern rock, celtic and British folk to an ever growing army of loyal fans.

‘We always enjoy coming back to the UK’ explains frontman Joziah Longo ‘we have built up a loyal audience from our appearances at UK festivals and love having the opportunity to visit new places and win new fans’

Anyone in any doubt that they will have a fun evening will be immediately won over by the band’s seemingly chaotic mix of musical styles that has been described as –‘a slice of Americana pie that is irresistible’ With influences and elements of Dylan, Bowie, Incredible String Band, Syd Barrett and The Waterboys one should not be surprised where the journey will take the listener.

The band members present an equally varied cast of characters – frontman Joziah Longo (the resident shaman of Slambovia), leads with vocals described as "soothing and bewitching as a snake oil tonic” taking full control of the stage. Longtime bandmates - the diminutive Tink Lloyd (accordion, cello, mandolin, flute) dwarfed by her accordion, and Sharkey McEwen prowling menacingly on guitar/mandolin bring their own magic to the Slambovian brew. With ‘a little help from their friends’ - RJ McCarty (keys, bass,), and Matthew Abourezk (drums) the band stirs up a highly entertaining well paced set.

The band’s set for this tour will include a mix of tracks from their highly successful latest album ‘A Very Unusual Head’ with along with a few Slambovian classics. They will also be celebrating the 25th Anniversary of their debut album, "A Good Thief Tips His Hat" reprising many of the tracks.
