Third Forest, Folk & Roots appearance for the inimitable Gerry Colvin Band

The Gerry Colvin band have gone down a treat at previous Forest, Folk & Roots nights so it's not surprising to see the band back again this Friday (October 21).

Cranfield watering-hole The College Arms Bar is once more hosting TGCB.

Gerry has been around for aeons, colouring up collections and ears with his music - in the early '80s he co-founded and fronted skiffle-cowpunkers Terry & Gerry.
They toured Europe, played on smart small screen shows including The Old Grey Whistle Test and The Tube, and became a firm rave-fave of  the late John Peel.
All five singles and an album hit the top spot of the indie charts too.

Last year they reformed and hit the road with Status Quo.  The tour wrapped up at London's Albert Hall.  Nice work.
Terry and Gerry did the Glasto thing too, and are still kicking live dates.
In the 90s, Gerry collaborated with Alison Moyet, penned TV themes, musicals and film scores and worked for Radio 2,  just your average stuff...if you are a solid gold gifted muso.
And in the same decade, he founded folking great mob Colvinquarmby, who delivered six full-length albums, and in more recent times Gerry has jazzed things up.

If you look up prolific in the dictionary, the explanation probably reads as Gerry Colvin!

Expect to hear songs taken from various eras of his extensive history, in a fusion of roots, country and jazz.
Support is coming from Amii Dawes.

The venue opens at 7.30pm and the sounds go live at 8pm.
Tickets are £10 (a fiver for students).
