THIS WEEK AT THE STABLES: WITH GINGER BAKER, SARABETH, SPOOKY MEN'S' CHORALE, THE STRANGE DOORS & PETER DONEGAN

Peter Donegan 'plays' tribute to his father Lonnie at The Stables this Thursday (Aug 27) by joining with the Lonnie Donegan band.

Fans can expect the full Lonnie force at the show, revealed in classic songs including Putting on the Style, Have a Drink on Me, Rock Island Line and Pick a Bale of Cotton.

You 'skiffling?' You asking?!

Foot-stomping fabulousness from 8pm.

Fans of The Doors will be in for a treat on Friday night (Aug 28) when The Strange Doors (above) – the UK's most authentic tribute mob, who just so happen to be MK-based – take the stage.

They've proven quite the allure too during UK tours and with a small French tour to celebrate the late front man Jim Morrison, who is buried in Paris cemetery, Pere Lachaise.

They even hooked up with Jerry Scheff – bassist on the LA Woman opus, and Elvis' bassist during the later years.

But we digress, you want to know what's in store at The Stables, right?

And here, in the words of the expert imposters, is the menu: 'Ad-libbed poetry, a singer that jumps into the air and writhes on the floor, those crisp organ sounds of Ray Manzarek cutting through the air with beautiful precision, bluesy slide guitar and powerful yet subtle drumming that punctuates the music and vocals.'

Costumes, instruments, psychedelic projections and sets all work their own little bit of magic into The Strange Doors melting pot marked 'marvellous.'

People are strange, but this lot are stranger...

Tickets are all gone for SaraBeth (above) who performs over on Stage 2 with Glen Mitchell the same evening, but Total the powerhouse Country vocalist spoke went On Track with Total MK here: http://www.totalmk.co.uk/on-track-sarabeth-in-the-total-mk-hot-seat/

Spooky Men's Chorale (below) return on Saturday night (Aug 29), visiting these parts direct from the Blue Mountains of Australia.

MPMG Spooky Men's Chorale

Musical sensibilities, cavernous vocal chords and extreme silliness comes together as the collective explore the paradoxes of latter day masculinity.

Take a seat and let them sate your musical thirst with hair-raising Georgian harmonies, immaculate ballads and vaudevillian nonsense.

Unsurprisingly, tickets to see Ginger Baker's Jazz Confusion (top pic) on Sunday evening (Aug 30) are gone too.

It'd be a pointless exercise trying to sum up the drummer and his work when any fans among you will already have been gripped by the documentary Beware of Mr Baker.

But we will tell you that if you are expecting a Greatest Hits of Cream at this show, you'll be leaving bereft.

This is Ginger at his jazzy-improvisational best – and he's still a beast of the beats, trust us.

We caught him last time around at the venue.
