We Shall Overcome: Supporting anti austerity and bringing people together in Milton Keynes

We Shall Overcome will shine a light on deserving local causes this weekend, using the power of positive and music as its weaponry.

More than 170 similar events are being held up and down the country this month, to raise awareness and funds for local communities and charities that have been set up 'as a result of governments cuts and policies.

"It's about supporting anti austerity and bringing people together," say organisers.

We Shall Overcome is being held at The Irish Centre in Bletchley on Friday (October 6) night.

It will be hosted by Prettysound Records, founded by Craig Hudson, who you most likely know better as the colourful performer Billy Nomad.
Also lending their talents to the evening will be JJ King, Holm, Ian Roberts, Anne Scaletone, Mitchell Taylor and Sian Magill.

Special guest will be Tom Davis, the brains behind the Bus Shelter MK.

MK Soup Run will be inviting people to donate food and water, Harrys Rainbow will be raising funds towards a Christmas party for 170 children, the
Bus Shelter MK will invite cash donations and Age UK MK will hold a cake sale at the event...so remember your pennies and pounds!

Local artists Taylor Smith, JJ Stelliato and Ian Guiller Northcote - Rogas will be donating art pieces to swell the coffers.

Tickets are £3.  A small amount, but with enough support, it will make a big difference...
