Bill Orcutt is undoubtedly known best as the co-founder of noise machine Harry Pussy.
What shall we label it as this time? Violent noise rock, maybe?
Whatever, with Orcutt handling the 4-string guitar and Adris Hoyos delivering on drums and vocals the sound they created was one of extremity and brutality.
During their five years operational the uncompromising duo toured with artists including Thurston Moore's Sonic Youth, and produced more than 20 different releases on many record labels - some of them more difficult to get your mitts on than others.
But that was then. Let's fast forward 20 years to the here and now.
Bill Orcutt is still only working with four strings, but now they are attached to a vintage acoustic Kay that has withstood enough damage and repair that it requires custom tuning to stay in one piece.
Clanging and cathartic, alienating and vulnerable, his music is all this and much, much more – split with seven quid and watch him at play this Thursday evening (Oct 29) at MK Gallery Project Space.
Also playing out for you this time, catch The Doomed Bird of Providence, Adam Coney and Sharp Fists.
