£2m extra government funding for Milton Keynes Council to tackle Coronavirus in care homes

Milton Keynes Council will receive £2,012,454 funding from the Government to support local care homes in their efforts to halt coronavirus.

The extra funding comes as part of the £600 million nationwide package announced last week and will go towards rolling out training on infection control for staff, reducing transmission by supporting providers to reduce workforce movements and stepping up NHS clinical support to care homes.

Since the start of the pandemic the Government has provided MK Council with £13,504,845 to help them provide essential services including social care, while £40 million has be supplied to help local businesses through the crisis.
