Christmas comes early for Milton Keynes family as Bob the parrot is found

A family in Milton Keynes who ended up in a flap when their prized pet parrot went missing, have been reunited with their much-loved member of the family.

Bob the African Grey parrot escaped on Friday morning. His owner Ross Kirke was in the process of moving home, and Bob was spooked when furniture was being moved.

The beautiful bird's absence left his owners devastated, and they took to social media in a bid to find their chirpy pal.

“Bob is just the greatest,” said Ross' sister-in-law Rachel Ashton on twitter.

“His vocabulary is hilarious, he's a terrific dancer, and he walks like a dinosaur. He's also a bit of an arse for the heartbreak he's caused by vanishing this Christmas. Please come home, Bob. You're sorely missed.”

But the family received their own Christmas miracle on Sunday morning when someone contacted them to say they has seen Bob, and he was still in the Bletchley Park vicinity that he set off from.

Having taken a bird's eye view of the area, he had obviously decided he liked what he saw, and stayed put.

"Our master code-breaker clearly fancied a spot of code-breaking!" Rachel said.

In no time at all Bob had swapped a tree outside the entrance to Bletchley Park for his owners arm.

"We're all delighted to have him back!" Rachel added.

"He's such a sweet boy. A top bird. Christmas would have been no fun without him."
