Pro-prankster Dennis the Menace surprised shoppers in intu Milton Keynes on Friday, bringing his special brand of humour to the centre for a day of fun and mischief.
Dennis had already been up to high-jinks in the centre, giving the beloved concrete cows a Beano makeover in googly eyed glasses and his trademark red and black stripes.
But then he took the pranks to a new level, visiting many of the stores, including Pret, Levi’s, Gap and the brand new BMW pop-up shop, to play tricks on shoppers and staff.
From reorganising the stock to ‘cleaning’ the shiny new cars with his grubby hands, Dennis caused giggles wherever he went.
He also found time to pose for snaps with little trouble-makers who just love his cheeky sense of humour.
“The Beano Takeover is a great fun addition to the centre’s offering for children this summer – and I know that getting the chance to meet Dennis himself has been a real high point for loads of young shoppers, as well as nostalgic adults,” said Kirsty McGiff, intu marketing manager. “Dennis even played a prank on me – he left a whoopee cushion on my chair!”
The Beano bonanza runs until Friday 28 August, with plenty of activities and competitions to come.
Visitors joining in the fun of the Beano treasure trail will also get to take home a free intu edition of The Beano.
