A group of transport professionals visited the city last week to see how MK is already leading the way with electric vehicle technology.
The group from Ireland, Italy and Germany inspected our infrastructure of charging points for electric vehicles and electric buses and saw the Starship delivery robots in action.
The visit was arranged by the Council’s Low Carbon team as one of the eight partners in the INTENSIFY project, a Europe-wide group of local authorities who are committed to lowering our collective carbon emissions through sharing their ideas and initiatives with other cities.

These representatives from Treviso, Cork and Dessau were particularly interested in MK’s electric vehicle infrastructure, which has already been established for several years and wanted to see it in practice.
The INTENSIFY project began in 2018 and will run until 2023.
It was created to bring local authorities together to work collaboratively on a larger scale to meet the targets set by the EU to reduce carbon emissions by providing communities with the tools and methods to live more sustainably.
