A little black kitten that was rescued from under the Made in Sud pizza van at intu Milton Keynes on Friday night (18 October) has been undergoing veterinary treatment after Cats Protection took it under its wing.
The kitten – which looked frail and thin – was rescued by two cat-loving officers from Thames Valley Police, along with members of the intu Milton Keynes security team.
After being fed and watered, local charity Cats Protection took the kitty – who has been named Sabrina in a nod to Halloween – to a foster carer in Winslow to be looked after overnight. Over the weekend, she was taken to a vet where she had to be put on a drip as a result of severe tummy problems.

Now, Cats Protection and intu Milton Keynes are arranging a fundraising day for the kitty – who’s thought to be around 10 months old – to make sure she can get the medical care she needs to return to full health. Although Sabrina is now back with the foster carer, Cats Protection now needs to fund specialist food to aid her digestion until she can find a more permanent home.
Sarah Payne from Cats Protection said: “The kitten could have been hiding there for days. She was very, very thin. She has had to have emergency treatment as she was so dehydrated with a very poorly tummy. She’s now back with her foster carer as the charity cannot afford to keep her with the vet, but we are still buying her special food which is extremely expensive. I go out fundraising most weekends, but there are a lot of cats who need our help.”
Details of the fundraising date will be announced shortly.
