Great fun at Good Friday's traditional Beer and Bun race in Bradwell Village

The annual Beer and Bun Race – a Good Friday tradition in Bradwell Village since the 1960s – continued in fine style today.

The race sees participants head off from the Victoria Inn with a glass of beer in one hand and a hot-cross bun in the other, walking an eight minute route around the village.

Many villagers and visitors lined-up to partake or enjoy the fun, with plenty of good natured competition.
The winners are those who return with the most beer still in the pint glass. Not as easy as it sounds when competing with dozens of others!

"It's a great village and this tradition is a lovely way to start the Easter break and spend time with friends and other locals,” said resident Vicky Bradfield.
