To mark World Mental Health Day, an evening of art and live music will be held at Arts Central in Central Milton Keynes on Tuesday, October 10.
The evening will provide an opportunity for people who are living with mental health issues to share their stories and to also encourage guests to talk openly about the often-misunderstood topic.
The programme will include a “Silent Auction” of art pieces donated by Peter Leeson with proceeds going to the WMHD MK event.
An art exhibition with works by talented people who are either recovered, or are in recovery from mental health illness will also figure.
Live music provided by Crossroots, and two very short mental health films will air, which includes one by a much-loved royal...
The main testimony of the night will be from MK peer support worker Mark Sanderson.
Guests who attend will be invited to write a few words on how they feel about mental health and pin it to an “Inspirational Tree”.
This year’s theme for WMHD focuses on mental health in the work place and the continued challenge to eradicate the “stigma” that surrounds the illnesses.
Entry to the event - beginning at 7pm - is free, but booking is essential.
