Some people might think Milton Keynes hasn’t made enough noise in its 50th year, but that is about to change - as one of the city’s biggest business brands prepares to turn up the volume.
Denbigh-based Marshall Amplification will be hosting a rousing rendition of the classic Led Zeppelin track, Rock & Roll later this month.
And you can’t get much more rock and roll than by assembling 50 guitarists to play it at the same time!
The guitarists - ranging from school children to professional recording artists from the area - will be playing the track in unison on 50 limited edition MS2 amps.
“Marshall Amplification is all about living through music, and Rock and Roll is the perfect song to express that,” said Jon Ellery, managing director at Marshall Amplification.
“We are a global brand but are passionate about Milton Keynes, and proud to call the new city our home.
“We wanted to make sure that we made a noise about the new city in its special anniversary year - and this event will certainly make a noise!”
On Wednesday, September 27, Marshall HQ will open its theatre doors for a demonstration of some of its cutting edge products, followed by the '50 for MK50 performance.
King Creature - one of the first bands to sign with the newly created Marshall Records label - will also perform at the event.
The band were personally selected by Motorhead frontman Lemmy to support the band on their last UK tour, and issue their debut album the same week.
Tickets to the event - which will run between 4pm and 7pm -are free, but you must register to attend.
