Lady Margery’s Gorse has been officially opened by the Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr Sam Crooks at a ribbon cutting ceremony today (Friday 27 September).
The park, which is located in the Whitehouse development of the Western Expansion Area, incorporates the existing historical woodlands to provide residents with green open space.
It also includes other key local facilities which make up the central area of the new estate including the recently opened Whitehouse Health Centre, the ‘high street’ and a play area.

The park was built by Bovis Homes Group using the Milton Keynes Tariff – funding made up of developer contributions specifically to provide infrastructure for the city.
The design was a partnership between MK Council, Gallagher Estates and the Parks Trust.
The park will be adopted by the Parks Trust who will manage and maintain it.
The Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr Sam Crooks said “I am delighted that this historic wood and hedgerows have become part of this new estate, combining the past with the future”.
“Providing green open spaces for people to enjoy now and in the future is fundamental to the design of Milton Keynes and the benefits to our wellbeing are numerous.”
