Milton Keynes SNAP awarded the Best Learning Disabled Support Service 2020

The city’s leading learning disability charity, MK SNAP has been recognised as Buckinghamshire’s best support service.

 

The charity has been a lifeline for people with learning disabilities since it began 27 years ago. Today, it’s changing lives for more than 60 adults each day.

 

Presenting the award at the Holiday Inn central Milton Keynes, MK Mayor, Sam Crooks said it’s the care and kindness given by the staff at MK SNAP that are the foundations of our city.

 

The Walnut Tree centre offers a dynamic programme of education, life-skills, work preparation and work opportunities.

Every part of the organisation is designed to unlock people’s talents and skills, allowing them to see what they can uniquely offer.

 

The judges said MK SNAP’s staff demonstrate expertise and dedication to people with learning disabilities.

The award by Global Health & Pharma (GHP), also recognised MK SNAP for its commitment to excellence and innovation.

 

Angela Novell, CEO, who was named Third Sector Champion at the National Business Women’s Awards of the Year, 2019 of, said: “I’ve got a great team of people and I am proud that the hard work and dedication of the team has been recognised.”

 

Vice-chair Trustee, Lisa Spearman, said her niece would not have the fulfilling life she has today without the care and support of the staff and services of MK SNAP.
