More than 1100 local ladies lit up the redways with glowsticks and glitter on Saturday night as they walked the MK Midnight Moo for Willen Hospice.
The annual 10 mile sponsored walk is a highlight of the charity’s event calendar and this year a Half-Moo was added as a shorter option.
Walkers created a spectacular image as they set off at midnight after a vibrant Clubbercise warm up. Many of the ladies were dressed in vivid disco outfits, leg warmers and body glitter, along with their neon green Moo vests, to tie in with the disco theme.
Tracey Jago, Events Manager at Willen Hospice said “The ladies should be extremely proud of their achievements on the night. The atmosphere was incredible and our walkers really took the theme to heart with their fantastic disco outfits. They have succeeded in raising an enormous amount of money for the Hospice so far, and we’re still receiving pledges.
“We couldn’t host such a brilliant event without these ladies, and I’d like to thank each and every one who took part. I’d also like to thank our volunteers who helped out on the night and our sponsors who helped make the event possible.”
Willen Hospice relies on the support of local people to help them raise £9 every minute of the day to continue to offer life changing support to patients and their families in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas.
Moo walkers are asked to send in their sponsorship money as soon as they have their final amount. It’s really easy to donate money online, in person or over the phone. Details are available here
Money raised via JustGiving will automatically be sent to the Hospice.
