Milton Keynes shoppers flocked to get their first glimpse of the new Primark megastore at centre:mk this morning.
Primark is a celebrity on the High Street, and it certainly felt like that, with the kind of whoops, cheers and anticipation that would usually be reserved for a boy band!
The fashion giant cut the ribbon and opened its second store in the new city at 10am, and more than 1000 shoppers were keen to be among the first through the doors. They received a very warm welcome from some of the 450 staff on hand to welcome them in.
Earlier, Total MK had enjoyed an exclusive preview of the new premises, which boasts three floors of fashion, and covers more than 75,3000 square feet of retail space.
The flow of the store is fantastic, and clear signage means that it's easy to navigate the vast expanse of womenswear, menswear, kidswear and lingerie, beauty and homeware if you are in a rush.
That said, ideally you'll visit at your leisure and take time to soak in all the quirks that make this store a sensational one, and the wonderfully wide aisles make browsing a pleasure.
The shop fit is decidedly contemporary, and with 46 cash desks and 76 fitting rooms, queuing will be kept to a minimum, and the store boasts its own nail and lash bar, in partnership with Lashious. There are three customer seating areas too, for shopped out customers to relax and recharge.
The MK store opening brings the total number of stores in the UK to 189.
