Speedmachine Festival is a huge hit at iconic Silverstone race track

The inaugural Speedmachine Festival was a huge hit last weekend - with 30,000 fans descending on the iconic Silverstone race track for a weekend of world Rallycross action, live music, track drives, delicious street food, eSports and much, much more.

Total MK was among revellers enjoying music from headliners Ministry of Sound, Dizzee Rascal (top) and Basement Jaxx with crowds also being treated to a DJ set from Craig Charles, indie-rockers Razorlight (below) and grime star Lethal Bizzle amongst others.

On-track World Rallycross action was fast and furious with supporting competitions (WRX2 and ARX) providing exhilarating warm-ups for the WRX final which was won by current leader Johan Kristoffersson.

Car fans had plenty to enjoy as Speedmachine gave them the chance to get up close and personal to some of the sport’s most iconic vehicles. Past and present rally cars, American Muscle Cars, Big-wheelers and classic cars were on display and took to the track as well as Monster Energy’s Drift stars burning rubber in front of the grandstand crowd.

On a very unexpectedly sunny English Bank Holiday weekend, huge crowds of racing fans enjoyed the air-conditioning inside Silverstone’s Wing complex to watch the final of the DiRT eSports World Championship which had had over 20,000 entries in the run-up to the weekend’s decider.

And the great news for those who attended and want a repeat, and for those who missed out and want a second chance to indulge?

Speedmachine will return next May Bank Holiday  weekend, May 24-26, 2019.
