Hands up if you love bubble wrap?!
When intu Milton Keynes heard that it was Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day on January 28, it couldn’t ignore this important calendar event … so staff set to work wrapping pillars and benches in the pop-ular bubble-licious plastic.
Shoppers were invited to pop, pop, pop their way around the shopping centre, pressing those pop-able little plastic bubbles as they went, with the aim of inducing happiness, smiles and giving people a little bit of laughter on a dreary January day.
Because let’s face it, most of us – big, small and everyone in between – can’t resist hearing the noisy little ‘pop’ those bubbles make when we get our mitts on them.
Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day was created back in 2001 and takes place on the last Monday in January each year.
Shelley Peppard, general manager at intu Milton Keynes, said: “We thought we’d join in with this fun event with the sole purpose of making shoppers feel happy during the dreariest month of the year! "We love making customers smile and are always looking for new and exciting ways to do that, whether through big events or something a little bit silly like this.
"Everyone was laughing and felt satisfied post-popping, so we definitely achieved our goal!”
