On Wednesday (July 3), Oddsocks Productions will become the latest theatre company to present professional theatre in the grounds of Stantonbury Theatre, following the success of bicycle-riding Shakespeare company The HandleBards in 2018.
Taking on the classic summer treat, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the company are celebrating their 30th anniversary with this high-energy new tour, full of the usual music, magic and mayhem associated with this acclaimed theatre company.
The show tells the al fresco tale of four young lovers lost in the forest, a mischievous company of fairies who play havoc with their intended elopement, and an amateur group of wannabe thespians preparing for what just might be worst play ever presented at the court of Theseus and Hipployta.
A favourite at this time of year around the country, Shakespeare’s tale of love found, lost, confused and resolved is the perfect summer treat, with audience encouraged to bring picnics to Stantonbury for a full evening of family entertainment.
