Funny Girl star Chris Peluso on his three favourite characters so far...

Funny Girl star Chris Peluso give the lowdown on his favourite three roles played (so far), and what makes them special....

1 Chris in MISS SAIGON

Chris was my first major leading role in a major production. It is also a role that I have always wanted to play since I was a little kid. Getting the chance to be part of such an incredible production in the west end was so special to me as both a performer and as a person. I owe a lot to the production/producing team for casting me and bringing me to my new home in the UK.

2 Ravenal SHOWBOAT

SHOWBOAT has been one of my favourite shows since I read it and studied it in College. I have always loved the score, especially the song “Old Man River”, and getting to listen to the wonderful cast sing it so beautifully each night was one of the highlights of my life. Also getting to be a part of the history of such a historically important show was incredible.

3 Tony WEST SIDE STORY

WEST SIDE STORY was my favourite show growing up. Getting a chance to sing music that I listened to over and over again was a special gift. The story is also incredible and difficult to tell well. It was a very big challenge for me to take on at a young age and I grew immensely as a person and performer during the relatively brief run at the Barrington Stage Company.

And lastly, sell the show to us - what can people expect from Funny Girl in Milton Keynes?

FUNNY GIRL is a special story partly about a woman’s struggle with her balance of life and work. The performance of Fanny Brice by Sheridan Smith is one of the greatest performances I have ever seen.

Simultaneously hilarious and heart breaking it is so emotionally powerful that it alone is worth the price of admission. There is also a fabulous company of singers, dancers, and actors who are supporting her.

The music is lush and fun, the dance is exciting and hilarious and the story is entertaining and insightful. It is a night in the theatre that should not be missed and hopefully will be cherished.
