HA HA HOOD! WITH CANNON & BALL...AND SU!
It is referred to as the funniest farce in the forest, so naturally producers wanted comedy favourites to star in Ha Ha Hood! And the Prince of Loaves.
Step forward Su Pollard and Cannon and Ball for the 'all-out outrageous side splitting romp.'
'Ten years after a messy divorce Robin and Marian are forced back together to fight the Sheriff once more.
Little John and Friar Tuck, now considerably older and rougher around the edges, join the merry pair to try and save the citizens of Nottingham...'
As the scatty chalet maid Peggy in Hi-de-Hi, Su Pollard was one of the most-recognisable faces of eighties television, and the same can be said of the partnership between Tommy Cannon and Bobby Ball.
Their role in Ha Ha Hood! Prince of Leaves - at Milton Keynes Theatre on Tuesday (September 16) - marks 40 years since their first small screen appearance and - wait for it - their half century together as a duo.
That's longer than you'd get for marriage and murder combined!
Su's Maid Marian won't be a pushover, by any stretch of the imagination.
"My Marian is really independent, ballsy and brave," Su says.
"She's very to the point and strong willed. I far prefer playing a character like that to a poor princess who whimpers and simpers all the time.
"I can't wait to get hold of this character!" she adds.
Of his and Bobby's characters, Tommy promises they are "Mad! Barking mad! And funny! And who knows, maybe a little factual?"
Ben Langley is the creator of the Ha! Ha! series - which also includes Ha Ha Hitler and Ha Ha Holmes.
He said: "For me, what I saw in Ha! Ha! was a British version of The Reduced Shakespeare Company, which, rather than taking the mickey out of us, was embracing us and was very pro-British and was a tribute to all of the great comedy artists and routines that have made Britain funny over the last 50 to 100 years."
