Wolverton Gilbert & Sullivan Society have been working hard towards their next delivery, and the wait is over; The Pirates of Penzance is on stage from Thursday (June 30).
Young Frederic has been apprenticed to a band of tender-hearted pirates until he reaches his 21st year.
Thinking he has fulfilled his indentures, he decides to return to respectable society – and then he discovers he was born on February 29...a blimmin' leap year.
Now he has to remain apprenticed until his actual 21st birthday!
As 2016 marks Frederic's official 40th birthday, Wolverton G&S are putting this potted version into play at Stantonbury Theatre.
Fearsome pirates, silly police and virtuous maidens will reign in this evening of fun, laughter and wonderful music.
The pirates will be doing pirate stuff again on Friday night too, if you can't make it along on Thursday.
A policeman's lot is not a happy one, but a G&S audience will be smiling, trust us.
Tickets are £10, £8 (for full time students and senior citizens) and £5 (under 16s).
