Midsummer Boulevard, which connects Milton Keynes Railway Station to the main business and shopping areas and stretches as far as Milton Keynes Theatre and Gallery, will light up for the Christmas period launching on Saturday, November 12 with a festive light switch on event located at the horseshoe area outside intu Milton Keynes.
Kicking off at 3pm, the event will feature a full programme of activity hosted by MKFM’s Oliver Dean, and Father Christmas himself will appear at 4.45pm to switch on the lights with a helping hand from the Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr Steve Coventry.
The switch on will be followed by a sparkling laser and pyrotechnic display which will light up the city skyline.

“We are so proud that for the third year running the streets of Central Milton Keynes will light up and add some extra festive cheer,” said city centre manager Melanie Beck.
“The response to the city lights has been fantastic over the last two years, and so we hope the residents of Milton Keynes will turn out to join us once again in celebrating the start of Christmas in Central Milton Keynes!” she added.
