Take a chance to delve deeper into the history of All Saints’ Church in Loughton on Saturday 14 September from 9.30 am to 6.00pm as part of the countrywide Heritage Open Days (which is celebrating its 25th anniversary).
Explore this fantastic 800 year-old church and discover the stories behind the people connected with it over the centuries - entry is free.
You can see the recently restored bells in action at 11.00am and 3.00pm – no need to book! This year’s theme of ‘People Power’ is beautifully illustrated by a wide range of arts and crafts created by talented local people. And join us for tea and cake, served throughout the day.
The church building has stood in its prominent position in Loughton through eight centuries and many upheavals, including the Reformation, the English Civil War, and two World Wars. With 800 years of services and prayers and thousands of people through its doors, it remains an important part of the local community today as a place of worship for people of all ages.
All Saints’ special 800th anniversary booklet will be available for a £2 donation; all profits to Milton Keynes Bridgebuilder Trust.
