Family Heritage Open Day at Great Linford Manor Park

As part of the ongoing Heritage Lottery Funded project to ‘Reveal, Revive and Restore’ Great Linford Manor Park, an upcoming family heritage open day is being held in the park this coming weekend.

It will allow visitors to discover horrible heritage and fun facts about the wonders of Great Linford Manor Park and St. Andrew’s Church.

The event will consist of live music, a children’s horrible heritage trail, bell ringing, guided walks, family activities and a variety of garden games.

Food can be purchased on the day from local vendors and St Andrew’s Church or why not bring along a picnic and enjoy the historic features of the park and the views of the impressive Manor House.

Darrel Canvin, Community Engagement and Outreach for the project says, ‘Great Linford Manor Park really does provide the perfect backdrop for our family themed Heritage Open Day.

There will be plenty of activities for all audiences, and our horrible heritage trail will ensure that children will learn lots about the history of the park, whilst having fun! The park features several grade 2* listed buildings, 18th Century heritage features and our famous veteran Lime Tree, estimated to be over 500 years old!’

Join The Parks Trust, alongside St. Andrew’s Church, Friends of Great Linford Group and Milton Keynes Arts Centre, for the Family Heritage Open Day on Sunday (September 22).

Parking for the event is available at Marsh Drive, MK14 5HH. Disabled parking is available at the Arts Centre, MK14 5DZ.
