Milton Keynes Sinfonia turns its attention to European composers

Head to Milton Keynes Chrysalis Theatre on Saturday (Dec 3) as Milton Keynes Sinfonia presents an evening of wonderful music by European composers of the 19th and 20th centuries.
Bela Bartok's Dance Suite was composed in 1923 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the union of the cities of Buda and Pest.

Bartok was renowned for collecting and arranging folk music, and these dances are full of the exciting melodies and rhythms of Arabia, Romania and Hungary.

Equally exciting is the Argentinian composer Ginastera's Harp Concerto, written in 1956. It will be performed by Welsh harpist Gwellian Llyr, who is quickly gaining an international reputation for her energetic and charismatic performances.

Completing the evening is Dvorak's 8th Symphony, equal in colour, liveliness and sheer exuberance to his more famous New World Symphony.

It's an evening to be relished, and begins at 7.30pm.
