Milton Keynes based women and their bikes are wanted to participate in a unique outdoor performance of The Bicycle Ballet Co’s Blazing Saddles.
Organisers are looking for up to 20 local women and their wheels to join The Bicycle Ballet Company in the creation and presentation of Blazing Saddles for MK’s Pedalling Culture.
All ages welcome and there is no experience necessary, apart from basic cycling proficiency.
For the uninitiated, Blazing Saddles is a unique outdoor performance celebrating the importance of the bicycle to women and fashion, and the possibilities of travel and freedom.
The show tells its tale in a series of choreographed sequences, with movement and humour, and unfolds along a short route along the Redways.
You will learn the structures and movement in each scene, taking a lead in some and acting as a chorus in others; guided throughout by performers.
Its an opportunity to develop new skills, boost confidence, work as part of a dedicated team on a unique project, meet new people and have lots of fun. You’ll learn about the historical importance of cycling for women, and help encourage more people in Milton Keynes to ride and make use of our great Redways.
You've not got long to get in the saddle if you want to participate, either.
A workshop rehearsal is being held this Saturday (September 15).
