Speedmachine 2018 the UK’s first-of-its-kind music and motorsport festival have announced a host of thrilling driving experiences to get the whole family on the track.
Alongside the exhilarating FIA World Rallycross Championship, fans of all ages (under 16s go free) are catered for with a huge range of activities such as go-karting, pit-stop challenges, autograph sessions, paddock tours and remote-control racing, as well as track rides and drifting experiences for those aged 17+ (with a driving licence).
With all activities included in the price of the ticket*, festival goers will also see performances from huge acts Dizzee Rascal, Lethal Bizzle, Basement Jaxx and more.
The unparalleled three-day music, camping and motor sporting event takes place at the iconic Silverstone racing track 25 - 27 May 2018.
At the first-ever Speedmachine fans can enjoy the heart-pumping thrill of Drifting On The F1 Track with a pro driver in a Jaguar F-TYPE, seeing how far they can push their comfort zones on the world famous race circuit.
Try out Teeside Karting where those aged 8+ can get behind the wheel and race on a bespoke circuit right next to the world rallycross track, battling it out as a family or challenging for the fastest lap of the weekend.
HPI Racing are bringing their all-out interactive remote-control racing display where fans can take part in the action, with exclusive stunt and off-road tracks and the latest cutting edge vehicles as well as prize giveaways, not to be missed. Festival goers will be able to put their dexterity to the test at the ultimate The Pit Stop Challenge changing a tyre on a real F1 car against the clock, as well as the Batak Reaction Test for those who think they have reactions of a world RX driver.
Younger fans aren’t forgotten as children under eight will also get the chance to get behind the wheel with the Renault Electric Karting circuit and the big adult kids can test drive the brand-new Renault Megane RS on the F1 track. Autosolo Passenger Rides will see visitors jump in the passenger seat and be whipped around a specially designed precision and manoeuvring course by a world class driver.
Encouraging young women into the world of motorsports Dare To Be Different will have a strong presence with a range of activities and positive messages for all. Local team Force India are bringing the incredibly impressive Sahara Force India VJM10 Mercedes for spectators to get up close and personal with.
The Silverstone Woodlands Campsite is nearby with an on-site pub, delicious street-food, serviced with top-notch facilities, quality toilets and showers with piping hot water kept clean round the clock by a dedicated team, as well as shuttles to and from for festival goers. Camping can be booked in addition to the general admission ticket on the Speedmachine website.
The world championship weekend will also feature a full schedule of eclectic evening entertainment: from ‘Godfathers of Grime’ Dizzee Rascal and Lethal Bizzle to indie chart favourites Razorlight, funk and soul DJ Craig Charles and era-defining DJ duo Basement Jaxx (DJ Set), topped off with DJs from the iconic Ministry of Sound. Not only that, but Killa Kela, The Fedz, Dat Brass and DJ BBQ will all contribute to the fantastic bank holiday vibes.
