Stantonbury’s Christmas Craft and Food Fair returns this week, and in 2016, it’ll be even bigger as the venue goes all out to swell the coffers of MK charity The Henry Allen Trust.
The trust was set up in memory of Henry Allen (pictured), to create a lasting legacy and bring 'Henry's Happiness' to families battling childhood cancer.
“In previous years we have supported bigger well-known charities with our annual fund raising activities, but this year in our staff poll it was unanimous - we wanted to help this very local charity raise its profile and funds that help families who are struggling with coping with a child with cancer,” said a spokesman.
More than 80 craft & food stalls - most of them local artisans - will be tempting visitors with a huge variety of goods on Saturday (November 26).
Indian Orchard (chutneys & pickles), Jam Moo Kow (jams), Chin's Kitchen (Asian snacks), Concrete Cow Brewery, The Chocolate Mill (truffles) and Honey Gale (honey & marmalade) are some of the foodie sorts selling on the day
Meanwhile, crafts including books, Christmas decorations, pottery, teddy bears, jewellery, baby gifts, wooden items and stained glass will also be on sale.
And Stantonbury have pulled out all the stops and managed to secure a visit from Santa!
The man in red will be greeting little folks in his Grotto, the bouncy castle will be set up, and there will be an indoor ride on a train donated by Milton Keynes Model Railway Society, who will also be showing off some fantastic model train layouts.
Add in face-painting, children’s craft making, candy floss and a fairground organ and you’ve got everything you need, except for a festive soundtrack.
But worry not, Bradwell Silver Band are donating their time to play some festive tunes. Staff will be donning their finest Christmas jumpers to compete in who has the best one; and in the theatre children aged 5+ and their families we have ‘The Christmassy Christmas Show of Christmassy Christmasness where 10% of sales will be donated to the charity: http://totalmk.co.uk/theatre/see-the-christmassy-christmas-show-of-christmassy-christmasness-at-stantonbury-theatre
Entry is free, and there is plenty of free parking.
Go have some fun and support The Henry Allen Trust. It’s a win-win.
