The Cowper & Newton Museum has opened its doors for a Georgian Tea Party today.
Step back in time 250 years at the historic house, and celebrate the period when the property was home to the famous poet William Cowper.
While there, take the opportunity to learn about Poor Law Records, enjoy Georgian Dancing in the Market Place, or take a guided tour of the museum.
Elsewhere there will be reading's in Cowper's Parlour, dressing up fun for kids and the chance to hear all about Mrs Unwin's Gingerbread story, and try those all important samples!
Home made refreshments will also be served in the courtyard of the museum, which will give you a chance to remember the significance of the traditional brew - in Georgian times, women were only allowed to drink it in their homes, but men could settle back and enjoy it in tea houses!
The event runs to 4.30pm and is open to all.
Those with an annual pass will pay just £2.50, those without pay £2.50 (which includes the purchase of an annaul pass).
Children aged three to 16 years are admitted for just £2.
