Love at first sight really does exist – and the RSPCA are ready to prove it again this weekend, when the North Bucks branch holds its annual Speed Dating event to celebrate Valentine'sDay.
You won't find a tall, dark, handsome stranger, ladies, but you will find a fluffy bundle that won't let you down, and hey, fella's, how about settling down with a purr-fect lady who won't nag?!
Yep, four legs are sometimes better than two, and where cupid may be failing, the RSPCA will come up trumps.
The feline extravaganza is being hosted by Midsummer Veterinary Group at their Stantonbury branch, and is a fun, timely way to partake in the Valentine fun - although behind the smiles and novelty we are dealing with a very real, and difficult situation.
Because sadly, too many pet owners are still too irresponsible to take care of their animals sufficiently to see numbers of unwanted pets fall.
They still refuse to get their moggies neutered, which leads to an explosion of kitties each year.
Some decide they don't want their pet when they move home, and cruelly cast them out with the unwanted furnishings.
And then there are those who sadly end up at the shelter when their owners pass away, or become too ill to look after them. Those cases are unavoidable, the others are.
Don't scour papers or head online for a pedigree pussy.
Visit your rehoming centre and give a lonely heart the chance of a new loving home.
If you do fall in love at Saturday's event (Feb 13, running between 2 and 4pm) you will be asked to donate £60 per cat which helps cover costs.
It's worth noting that all adult cats at the RSPCA are neutered, microchipped and treated for fleas and worms.
They will also have had at least their first vaccinations.
While the puddy-tats give all their feline charm, the centre will also have a selection of bunny's seeking a home too. Could you make Thumper's life comfortable, or give Bugs a second chance?
Come on, folks, step up and help to make a difference.
