Willen Lake will be transformed into the seaside for the day at a fun filled family day – Seaside in the City!
Willen Lake and The Parks Trust will host this free event where children and grown-ups alike can enjoy all things seaside. For one day only (Friday 16 August, 10am – 3pm) you’ll find a giant sandpit, a fantastic funfair and a traditional Punch and Judy puppet show plus lots more free activities.
Bring along your bucket and spade and play in our giant sandpit, or Splash ‘n’ Play in the outdoor splash park with more than 60 interactive features.
On the lawn overlooking the lake you’ll find all the fun of the fair with John Scarrott and Sons funfair (fair entry is free; ride prices will vary).There will also be free face-painting and rangers will be organising plenty of lawn games and activities to try.
Come to Seaside in the City dressed as your favourite underwater character and watch seaside favourites Punch and Judy who will be making an appearance with their traditional family friendly puppet show – one not to miss.
There will also be free kneeboarding sessions which are great for slightly older children, free dragon boat rides out on the lake, free sessions on our powerfan - a 13-metre high free fall simulator at Treetop Extreme.
And If you fancy taking out a pedalo you can choose from either a pink flamingo, dragon or a car and at Seaside in the City you’ll get 50% off the hire price (10am to 12noon).
Height and age restrictions on some activities – please check before signing up on the day. Parking is available at Willen Lake, off V10 Brickhill Street. Parking charges apply.
