CELEBRATED ARTIST MICHAEL KENNA 'COMES HOME' TO STOWE

Celebrated landscape photographer Michael Kenna is making a nostalgic journey back to his English roots for a special exhibition and lecture being housed at Stowe School. Michael Kenna has enjoyed a career 35 years long that has seen him travel the globe 'in an endless odyssey' to find new scenes and subjects. His lens has captured the shores of South Korea, the misty mountains of China, the urban jungles of Dubai and New York and the haunting sculptures of Easter Island. Michael's work speaks volumes about humanity and the poignant beauty in nature, and he has attracted a colossal fan base. Elton John is one such admirer and collector: 'Elegant. Serene. Meditative," he wrote, "This is why I was first attracted to Michael Kenna's work. "Since the early 1990s I have built a substantial collection of his photographic prints.  I am still captivated by the mystery of his night images and the sophisticated simplicity of his landscapes. Kenna's arrival here from his adopted home of Seattle coincides with the release of his 51st book, and his lecture - on Thursday, October 2 - will give an insight into his extraordinary career so far.
