New Milton Keynes art exhibition remembers photographer Legge

An exhibition launching this week at the Westbury Arts Centre remembers a much-missed Milton Keynes photographer, and will be hosted in the new gallery space dedicated to him.

Fellow artist Helen denDulk remembers Legge.

'Eighteen months ago we lost our dear friend and fellow artist, David Legge, better known to everyone as Legge.

The studio he occupied at Westbury Arts Centre for eight years was a constant buzz of photographic activity. His larger than life personality is still very much missed.

After he retired as a press photographer, he worked closely with the Motus Dance company, capturing the essence of dance and movement. At Westbury, Legge never hesitated in taking advantage of the 'Human Resources' readily available as models for his sometimes quirky but always original photographic projects.

The exhibition Westbury has curated in memory of Legge and his work will be shown in the newly created gallery space dedicated to him.

The launch event for the exhibition will take place this Friday 15th February from 6pm at Westbury Arts Centre. Anyone who knew this remarkable man is very welcome to attend. We would love for you to share your memories of Legge with us.'

The exhibition continues until the 28th of February.
