Competition: Win copies of No Turning Back, the new page-turner from bestselling Milton Keynes author Tracy Buchanan

In 2015 Tracy Buchanan was responsible for the runaway summer bestseller with My Sister’s Secret.

Last week, the Newport Pagnell-based author returns to shelves with her follow-up, No Turning Back.

Still in the vein of so-called twisty ‘beach noir’, this time the tale is an even darker one, set amidst the seemingly picture-perfect background of an English seaside resort, nowhere close to Milton Keynes!

Tracy, a web journalist and producer who lives with her husband, their little girl and their one-eyed Jack Russell, wrote her first book The Atlas Of Us having enrolled on the OU’s Starting Writing fiction course, while also working for the company.

She also travelled extensively while working as a travel magazine editor, sating the wanderlust she developed while listening to her Sri Lankan grandparents’ childhood stories – the same wanderlust that now inspires her writing.

No Turning Back explores just how far a mother would go to protect her child.

Intriguing and chilling in equal measure, Buchanan has created an addictive narrative that will keep you guessing up until the very last pages.

Those in the know are calling it ‘the perfect summer read for fans of Liane Moriarty, Diane Chamberlain and Claire Mackintosh.’

Here’s your insight…

‘You’d kill to protect your child – wouldn’t you? Famous radio presenter Anna Graves and her daughter are violently attacked on the local beach.
They escape the worst but the attacker is left with a serious injury and later dies in hospital. Anna’s life falls apart from that moment.

She is charged with manslaughter, subject to threats from the dead boy’s family and the focus of a media frenzy.
And then she receives a chilling message from someone claiming to be ‘the Ophelia Killer’ from an unsolved serial murder case from twenty years ago.
As Anna fights to keep herself out of prison and solve the mystery behind the ‘Ophelia killer’s’ message, she discovers her daughter has been taken …but just what lengths will a mother go to, to protect her child?’

We have teamed up with Tracy and publishers HarperCollins and have five copies of Tracy’s new page-turner,   to give away this week.
