20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios prove they can deliver the goods with the fifth cinema outing for the motley crew of prehistoric animal pals.

Despite the creeping feeling that the best days are coming to an end for a series that has endured almost as long as the last Ice Age itself, the script is still funny and risqué, the action sequences are masterfully executed and the vocal talents of a top notch cast still amuse, particularly John Leguizamo as lisping sloth Sid and Wanda Sykes as a feisty, 'Dirty Grandma'.

I saw this film with my six year old nephew and like many small children he cannot sit still long enough for the opening credits to finish rolling. It's a mark of quality with these films that he more or less sat still enraptured for the whole 90 minute duration.

NB: Keep your ears open for a familiar British accent, singer Jessie J pops up as Sid's love interest Brooke.
