OU FILM SOCIETY SHUTS UP SHOP FOR THE SUMMER

The current season of Open Film Society deliveries draws to a close this Wednesday evening (April 13) with the English film, The Homesman.

Mary Bee Cuddy (played by Hilary Swank) bravely volunteers to transport three women from Nebraska back east to Iowa.

The women have become mentally ill from the rigors and brutality of frontier life.

On the way Mary Bee enlists the help of 'homesman' George Briggs, played by Tommy Lee Jones, who also directed the work.

It airs, as is traditional, at the Open University Hub Theatre from 6.30pm, and clocks in at a touch over two hours long.
