ALBUM LAUNCH: HEART AND SOUL FROM THE URBAN POET

Soul Urban Poet launches his new album, A Soul New Chapter, with a return visit to Wavendon venue The Stables on Saturday night (Feb 28).

As you might expect, he is looking forward to sharing the fruits of his musical labours with his fans: "I feel the music I am making now is the best I have written and produced.

"I have put a big budget into this album, and I have five supporting music videos that will be released throughout the year.  There will be an exclusive first viewing of my Forever video at the Stables show," he told Total MK.

"The album title is a play on words for a whole new chapter being me, my music and how it has progressed.  I am very positive about it, unlike where I made my previous album, Urban Poetry.

"Then I was still trying to find my feet in what I was trying to say with my music.  With this album I feel like I have achieved my goals."

A Soul New Chapter is 11 tracks long, and includes collaborations with singer songwriter Ellie Antonini and Dan Carter.

"I've tried to make this album as heartfelt as possible, ranging from songs about love, with She is an Angel, to making the best of time while you are here, as on Forever.

"Music is a love for me and everyday things motivate me to write... a conversation with a friend, a bad day at work, breaking news on the radio..."

Supporting on Saturday falls to fellow MK talents Jdee and Charlie Barton, Manny and the Coloured Sky and Poet Tree Alliance host, Gregory Mahon.

Helping his fellow creatives is something Soul does regularly: "It's important that local talent support each other, whether it's me who is headlining, or them.

"There is a lot of talent in MK that deserves the chance to be heard," he says.
