Bananarama, Example and Reef to play AmpRocks Festival this week

AmpRocks is back this week, bringing live music to the usually tranquil setting of Ampthill Park, and organisers have pulled out all the stops for music lovers - with a little bit of rock, a little bit of pop and some dance delectation.

Whatever you like, there will be a little bit of what you fancy at Friday's (June 29) big bash...

Reef, whose Place Your Hand single was a bonafide 1990s anthem are all signed up and ready to go.

The Gary Stringer fronted quartet are fresh back from a road stint alongside Terrorvision and The Wildhearts, titled Brit Rock Must Be Destroyed, so they are nice and warmed up.

Always a stonking live act, last month the band released their fifth album Revelation, so they'll have lots of good newbie material to tease you with too.

Example and DJ Wire will also play. The British rapper and the north London DJ have wowed fans far and wide and know how to whip up a crowd - kicking off with the huge number one hits Changed the Way You Kiss Me and Stay Awake will be the perfect start.

And pop fans will be in good company - AmpRocks has booked Bananarama to bring down the curtain on a great evening of entertainment.
The original line-up of Sarah Dallin, Siobhan Fahey and Keren Woodward will be digging deep into their box of hits, and no doubt pulling out classics like Cruel Summer, Venue, I Hears A Rumour and Love In The First Degree.

Cue one big singalong in a sun-drenched park. It's a brilliantly eclectic bill, and one that is being opened by Battle of the Bands winners The Kazoos.
