Californian punkers The Dickies are coming to Bedford Esquires

Legendary US band The Dickies will bring their unique irreverent brand of punk rock to Bedford Esquires on Thursday (July 28) as part of a live sweep of UK and Europe.

The Dickies have won over a significant fan base with their winningly campy and goofy sense of playful good humour.

And they hold the distinction of being the first California punk group to both appear on network television and be signed to a major record label.

So there.

Besides such amusingly nutty original songs as Manny, Moe and Jack, You Drive Me Ape (You Big Gorilla)  and (I’m Stuck in a Pagoda With) Tricia Toyota, The Dickies have done insanely inspired covers of other artists’ songs that include Black Sabbath’s Paranoid and Nights in White Satin by the Moody Blues.

Last seen the town playing as support to the Damned, this is a rare chance to see the legendary US punk band in a small venue.

Main support comes from The Tendons, with Hazard opening up the show.

Tickets are on sale at £15 from  www.seetickets.com
