Daddy Long Legs bring blues brilliance to Bedford this week

Daddy Long Legs are masters of arcane blues secrets - a three piece force of nature hailing all the way from St Louis and New York State, USA.

DLL previously played Esquires in 2016 and impressed everyone at the venue so much that they were desperate to get them to come back. And they’ve done it - you can check in with the band on Friday (November 24).

Their harp blowing, blues bellowing eponymously named lead singer is part preacher, part whirlwind.
A Daddy Long Legs show is roots rock, blues and guttural soul, a combination of heart stopping originals and brilliant reinventions of standards as old as Robert Johnson. There will be scuzzy guitars, foot stomping anthems, blistering harmonica solos and it’s entirely possible the drum kit will end up on the dance floor.
This is music to soundtrack a juke bar brawl!

With a cult following in mainland Europe, Daddy Long Legs have toured or played with acts such as Lenny Kaye (The Patti Smith group), The Fall and The Sonics.

This is a band for fans of Howlin' Wolf, Leadbelly, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Flamin' Groovies, The MC5, The Jim Jones Revue, Gospel, Punk and standing with a pint in your hand, gobsmacked at what you have just witnessed.

Tickets are £10 in advance. Book yours here
