Milton Keynes talents show out at first Togtaster event at MK Gallery

Combine a heritage asset in Milton Keynes with a much loved local folk rock band and the result is the ever popular music festival Togfest.

In 1998 Togmor were celebrating their 10th anniversary, and to mark the memorable occasion, they started their own festival. Searching for a name for this “birthday party”, they took inspiration from Ozzy Ozbourne and his “Ozzfest” that was at MK Bowl that year.

Hence Togfest was born. Little did the founder members of the band realise that this was to become an annual event.

The festival has been going strong ever since with the exception of a few fallow years caused by unexpected events, including foot and mouth and of course latterly the pandemic.
Set in the remains of the Priory that was established in 1154, Bradwell Abbey has become the home of Togfest.

The much loved site, which has been undergoing extensive restoration, features the small chapel and farmhouse which is now the centre for cultural activities and an Urban Studies centre.
After 15 incredibly frustrating months, organisers are beginning the build up to the main event of bringing live music back to Bradwell Abbey on 24th / 25th June 2022.

To launch the lead up to the festival in 2022, the first ever “Togtaster” is being held this evening.

A relaxed, intimate cabaret style evening will be hosted at the Sky Lounge, MK Gallery tonight (Saturday, September 25).

The event is being called 'expectation,' seeing as how it features acts already signed for Togfest 22 – Paul Mclure and Togmor and will give the audience a flavour of what to expect at next year’s festival. And, with Fozz forced out by Covid, Tinkers Lane will be filling the gap.

Tickets are on sale through the website.
