Miranda Lee Richards makes long-overdue return to the UK, and Milton Keynes is on the schedule

She was born in San Fransisco after the summer of love and before the dawn of disco, and Miranda Lee Richards was raised in an environment that was both bohemian and artistic.

Small wonder that she graduated from the San Francisco School of The Arts, and then music came calling.

She met Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett who showed her the way on guitar and when her early demos found their way to Anton Newcombe, Miranda ended up connected with his band, the Brian Jonestown Massacre.

Later, she inked a deal with Virgin Records and her debut album The Herethereafter followed in 2001, bringing folk, psychedelia, country and indie pop together.
Eight years later, the follow-up Light of X was issued, and now she has given us album number three, Echoes of the Dreamtime, which Mojo magazine saw fit to award four stars to.

And it's on the back of that album that Miranda finds herself on British soil for a decent amount of tour dates, including one at The Craufurd Arms this Tuesday evening (September 27).

'Echoes...' was recorded with her husband, record producer Rick Parker, whose credits number The Dandy Warhols and BRMC.

The release has been described as 'the coming together of eight pastoral, atmospheric epics into a work that is her best yet.'

This UK jaunt is her first over here in seven years, making it that little bit more special.  Go see.
