THE BEATCHECK MONKEY IS BACK WITH MK11 SHOWDOWN

Beatcheck is back - a year since it last temped the musical minds of MK, the brand returns with a rush of goodies for you this weekend. They won't be stepping out alone either - Saturday's (July 19) event at MK11 in Kiln Farm is a collaborative affair. "It's been a while since we put a rave on and we're chuffed to be partnered up with Slam & Footwork for something special," explained the Beatcheck Monkey. "We thought this would be an ideal time to roll out a long awaited live set from the legendary Jungle Drummer." The hard hitter (above) is famed for his work with drum n bass act, London Electricity, and will deliver an exclusive live drum set 'The History of Jungle,' at the gig. Alongside him, playing for you in the Main Room you'll get bassline purveyors The Candyman, Uncle Muff, Shift and Gracenote. Forward thinking house music mob Footwork will host Room Two: "With Beatcheck and Slam in the Main Room, we thought we would pull out the big guns," Footwork's Kenty said, "We wanted to create a United Underground Footsoldiers and Check 'ed together as one!" ReBel (below) - the Tough Luck Records honcho - is heading things up, with raw techno and chunky house all the way. MPMG Rebel Beathceck Fortress, Rupert Read and Kenty himself will all bring the goods during the course of the evening. Admission is a fiver and doors open at 9m. Enjoy...
